I am proud to be able to introduce Jacob to our
customers. This young man has overcome a tremendous challenge in his
life. Even though he has had to endure hardship, he is one of the most
enthusiastic young men I have ever met. I would like to tell you how
Jacob has influenced my life. I heard Jacob speak about Dystonia and the effect
on his body. I noticed many years ago my own father had difficulty
writing. In fact his writing is not legible. In the last year I
have also noticed the same with my hand writing. After seeing a
specialist, I discovered that we both have writers Dystonia. Please
support Jacob's hard efforts to raise money for the Bachman Strauss Foundation.

What is Dystonia?
Dystonia is a neurological muscle
disorder that causes uncontrollable, painful spasms in one or more parts of the
body. While not widely known, dystonia affects an estimated 500,000 people in
North America alone. This devastating disease can appear
in children and adults alike.
What causes it?
There is no real answer to this
puzzling question. There is no definitive test or diagnosis for this disease,
nor is there a known cure. Dystonia is under-researched. Hundreds of
thousands of adults and children suffer from symptoms related to the disease, a
large majority of patients never receive a proper prognosis.
How can I help?
Something must be done to build
public awareness of the disease and the need for funds for medical research.
You can help. And we need your help.
The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia & Parkinson Foundation
The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia & Parkinson Foundation (BSDPF) was
founded in 1995 as a nonprofit 501(c)3 by Louis Bachmann(1916-2000) and
Bonnie Strauss. The Foundation was started to encourage new research and
scientists in the fields of dystonia and Parkinson disease, and to
heighten awareness about the diseases. The early stages of scientific
research are often the hardest to fund.To date, the Foundation has allocated over $10 million dollars to 202
grants around the world. These grants have helped to bring greater
insight into the causes and-we hope-cures for dystonia and Parkinson's
disease.
